Notes of conversations with Alexandre Vattemare, 1849.

Extracts from the journal of Mrs. B.D. Greene of Boston for 14 Apr. 1849 regarding her conversations with Alexandre Vattemare during his visit to Boston. Vattemare is known for his part in international literary exchanges and the founding of American libraries, in particular the Boston Public Library. The notes were transcribed by Josiah P. Quincy (1829-1910) around 1884.
